Web page designs - an introduction to web page creation.
We have used several web page designs applications and found that GoLive is far better than it's leading competitor Dreamweaver.
don't listen to me, listen to the experts.
This I suppose is down to preference but if you want to maintain your foreign code in one piece, create great web page designs and you want to have a very simple user interface plus integration with Quicktime then GoLive is the package of choice.

I was a bit disappointed though when it dropped integration with Apple WebObjects but I understand the market pressure being applied with popular technologies like JSP and ASP. But still I use it and have worked my web page designs easily into WOBuilder anyway.
* WOBuilder is a HTML Editor that comes with the suite of tools included in WebObjects
Fig 1 shows we have a layout of a page that comprises graphic elements and text ( this website ) and as you can see there are palettes that give access to all major page elements.
So after the layout has been created in Photoshop and then cut using Image-Ready we can import into GoLive environment. - see fig 1
Using Mac OSX is a dream due to it's UNIX roots, the development environment it provides allows integration with some leading technologies like PHP, Perl and JSP out of the box.
I prefer the truly scalable, dynamic site building tools and application server environment that Webobjects allows so I feel more at home with those tools.
And although not open sourced it is worth every penny.
A project that can take a long time in one of those languages can take up to a third less time with Webobjects. Leaving a lot more time for debugging and testing - and a better product at the end.
If you would like to receive my tutorials on integration of GoLive and WOBuilder/Project builder or any other site building topics you can think of please -
